President

My name is Carly Kovacik and I am a Lead Meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Seattle, WA. I went to school at NC State University and the University of Oklahoma before joining the National Weather Service in Atlanta in 2014. My passion for weather lies in severe weather and winter weather forecasting. When I’m not forecasting, you can find me weightlifting, climbing a mountain, or running.

Brian MacMillan

Vice President

Brian is a morning meteorologist for FOX 13 Seattle. Brian spent 8 years on the executive council of the Oregon Chapter of the AMS and has been forecasting in the Pacific Northwest on television for over 15 years.

Hannah Alto

My name is Hannah Alto and I am an operational meteorologist with Weathernet in Snoqualmie, WA. I have been in the private sector for about 2.5 years now and moved to the PNW from Illinois in August of 2020. I have loved every second of experiencing everything the PNW has to offer from the scenic views to the experience in forecasting and am excited to expand within the Puget Sound Chapter of AMS!

Abby Acone

Abby Acone is a morning meteorologist at FOX 13 in Seattle. Prior to that, she worked at KOMO News doing climate and weather reporting for three years. She also has experience forecasting in Colorado Springs and Eastern Washington.”
